620 WTMJ has an unpaid promotions internship available this Summer. The hours for this internship are flexible to correlate with the number of credits taken. The promotions intern will assist the marketing/promotions director in developing and implementing the marketing and promotional activities for 620 WTMJ, Milwaukee’s news, talk and sports leader. Specifically, the intern will: a) assist in setting up remotes and personality appearances, b) assist in the development/implementation of station promotions and contests, c) coordinate the implementation of WTMJ’s major summer promotion, d) maintain the Preferred Listener Club program, e) develop and implement listener events, f) write promotional announcements and other marketing materials, and g) coordinate miscellaneous projects as they arise.
Requirements: The ideal candidate will be a marketing-oriented, creative and extremely organized individual who thrives in a fast-paced environment. Should be comfortable with taking responsibility and decision-making. Computer experience is necessary to be proficient in this position. Excellent verbal and written communication skills are mandatory. Should be able to lift 20 pounds.
