Summer Multi-Cultural Intern Program

DESCRIPTION: This is a program that facilitates ethnic minority diversity in the Chicago advertising and marketing industry designed to provide on-the-job style training across all ad agency job functions. Students gain practical work experience, establish contacts and are better prepared to assume an entry-level position with an agency upon graduation. The program is sponsored by Partnership For Success, a division of the Chicago Advertising Federation.

WHO IS ELIGIBLE: All students applying for the program must meet the following criteria:
• Member of a racial minority group
• Citizen or permanent resident of the U.S.
• Full-time student who is at least a junior or senior

NUMBER OF JOBS: At least 10 positions potentially in the areas of Account Management, Media, Creative, Planning, Corporate Communications and Production are available at some of Chicago’s most prominent advertising and promotion agencies.

PROGRAM STRUCTURE:
• Official kick-off is the week of June 5th, with flexible staggered starts depending on school closing dates.
• An 8 to 10 week program that includes on-the-job experience.
• Weekly educational luncheons sponsored by agency participants.
• A structured Mentor Program which provides support and guidance over the full 8 to 10 week period.
• Social events for networking with the group and with members of Chicago’s advertising community.

• All applications are due in Chicago by March 3rd –interviews will be held over the phone after April 1st.

COMPENSATION:
$350 per week, less any necessary tax deductions.

HOUSING:
Chicago housing is the responsibility of each selected applicant. Information regarding low-cost housing in the Chicago area will be supplied to each selected intern, if requested.
