UW-Madison – Faculty Associate in Communication

As faculty associate in communication, your principal duties will include: 1) Prepare and teach three courses per academic year; hold office hours; prepare, administer and grade exams; prepare, assign and grade course work; 2) Oversee and advise one of the school’s academic clubs such as the American Advertising Federation, UW Ad Club or UW Student Chapter of the Public Relations Society of America; 3) Oversee professional internships for strategic communication undergraduates; and 4) Contribute to external relations efforts with employers and alumni in strategic communication. Maintain contacts and assist with recruiting as needed. Advise students on professional development and employment. A period of evaluation will be required.

To be considered for this position, you must have a MA/MS degree in a communication-related field (advertising, public relations) or marketing required. In addition, a minimum of five years of experience in communication-related field required (advertising, public relations, corporate or campaign communications, interactive communications or market research). Specific areas of expertise should include campaign strategy, marketing research, and an intimate knowledge of strategic communication tactics. A minimum of two years of experience teaching undergraduates is also required.
